Talking Ported and polished throttle body...

This week I installed a new throttle body on our 4.0 '06 Stang, with AJ checking it out for me, and I was not sure how things would go, as it was an ebay purchase. All I can say is WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! And, it looks really nice with the outer polishing, too. It looks as good as it is performing and it has saved me a lot of money off of the BBK price. I know that Avery had some issues with his BBK TB and eventually removed it and went back to stock. So, with this in mind, I had looked what was out there for performance and a good deal... finding this. I only paid $73.95 + $12.00 s/h flat rate. It came timely and I had great communication with the seller. Here is the write up. And, the fellow also sells these for GT models and different years....

ebay user id for the seller is: 618jerrys

On a performance budget? Give your 2006 - 2009 Mustang 4.0 V6 a tremendous performance gain with this highly ported & polished (P&P) OEM 65MM Throttle Body (TB). Does not fit 2005 applications without modification. This TB provides a tremendous boost in torque and gains of 7 - 10 HP depending on modifications. From bottom end through Redline it pulls very hard, especially in the mid-range; and is comparable to 70MM performance. Regardless of street or strip throttle response and performance is nothing short of superior. Includes installation instructions for 06-Up applications, Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and motor control unit. Does not include gasket. For a nice under the hood appearance I buff the TB and polish the motor control housing. NOTE: The motor and TB have been checked for electrical continuity and check ok. Under no load, the motor ran at 1.2VDC, this is the minimum voltage I test at. Note: these motors run on varible voltage according to position of the throttle body blade.

Instructions provided are for a twin bore 2006 up aftermarket TB (BBK), however, the same identical installation criteria is required for all electronic Fly-By-Wire Ford TB's, regardless of single blade or twin bore applications with very minor exceptions as this is an OEM TB, not aftermarket.

Indenpendent Bench Flow testing by a customer who was very kind to share his test data indicated this identical TB flowed 12+% over a stock TB. This is comparable to aftermarket TB's costing big $$$ and substantially exceeds the airflow of a aftermarket 70MM TB. Actual test data: Stock: 695 CFM. My P&P TB: 778.6 CFM. Please see feedback for eBay item: 160386704913

Please note the substantial difference between srock and P&P. I do not sell bling! I sell performance, but do try to present a very nice underhood appearance for all of my products. Any painted/coated application to intake components is detremental to total performance.

Aftermarket electronic, fly-by-wire, 4.0 Mustang TB's are VERY expensive. As an alternative this TB provides superior performance at a tremendous savings. I highly recommend a cold air intake system and performance exhaust to achieve the best performance this TB has to offer. You absolutely cannot purchase better performance at this price.

Although the original bore & blade remain, the significant performance gain is achieved by 50% reduction of the blade shaft, opening and radius of the air intake horn to 72/73MM, and most critical, radius work in front of the blade to substantially increase the incoming airflow, volume, and flows at very high velocity with a minimum of airflow turbulence. Additionally, the outlet side of the TB is also radiused for a smooth, turbulent free, transiation of the airflow into the manifold. After all work is completed I buff the exterior for a nice under the hood appearance and on this TB semi-polished the motor control housing.

All work is performed by hand using a variety of high speed cutters, and various grades of abrasive grit to attain the final product. Upon reassembly blade screws are coated with max. hold Loktite and counterpunched to prevent any potential risk of becoming loose or backing out.

A NOTE ON PORTING & POLISHING: I keep cost as low as possible, but porting & polishing requires allot of materiel expenditure to attain the final finish and these components are not cheap. From start to finish over 6 different finish grits are used. Absolutely no extruded honing. This procedure simply follows the original flow path and does not offer any significant improvement. Please keep in mind porting is not all about making something bigger. Porting is about maximizing airflow and reducing turbulence to a absolute minimum as applied to the item(s) being modified. Porting requires very close attention to detail, indepth knowledge of airflow characteristics; and if done right, makes very significant gains in performance without having to spend huge amounts of hard earned money for aftermarket products. Additionally, porting will not effect your fuel economy and in many cases will enhance MPG depending on driver habits, state of tune and condition of the motor.

NOTE: All Ford TB's 2005 up are 100% electronic operated (Fly-By-Wire) as such, I highly recommend professional installation by a shop that has the appropriate electronic equipment to facilitate the correct operating range.

As in performance applications, no warranty is implied or applicable. Buyer assumes and accepts all liability and responsibility for use and application.

I sell quality and performance and strive exceptionally hard for customer satisfaction. Bottom line, If your not happy, I am not happy. I am not a Power Seller or try to be, nor a seller who forgets the buyer after the sale or a seller who has to keep changing their eBay seller ID due to poor customer relations.

As a long time performance enthusiast, former professional record holding drag racer; and builder of my own high performance motors for over 12 years I have extensive experience and knowledge in the application and theory of porting.

Thanks for looking and please check my feedback and other Auction. I will respond to all questions ASAP.

Thought that I'd share this good experience.
